MATERIAL: 100% WOOL

QUALITY: KASHAN DABIR, CENTRAL PERSIA, CIRCA 1910

IN STOCK: 4’5 × 6’6

A very fine Kashan woven in the prestigious Dabir workshop, distinguished by a niche pattern enclosing a central flowering plant, flanked by a pair of blossoming trees enriched by polychrome flowers and leaves. The exquisite colouration includes a luxurious tonality of red for the background and stunning aqua blue niche spandrels. The generous width of the border and the overall sophistication of the various elements in the filed composition is reminiscent of the patterns employed on nineteenth century Mohtashem Kashan rugs, which provided a source of inspiration for the earliest vintage of Dabir workshop weavings.
